THIS IS AN 8 SONG ALBUM

"Music For A Thirsty Ear, Volume 1" is a new project of mine quite different than SMUG. Instrumental ambient hypnotic trance music is what first comes to mind. Think of it as a ‘yoga class for your soul through your ears‘ and you may start to get the picture. Produced and performed entirely by me featuring processed bass, a looper, and the occasional organic instrument from toy piano to hand held percussion.

The recording process was quick, averaging 4 hours per song from inception to completion. Once the loops were created, they were mixed live to tape in one pass with various effects. Subsequent layers were added in the same fashion with different mix moves and effects. Once the foundation was laid, I played live bass on top in one take with no overdubs or second guessing.

The immediacy of this approach led to a certain raw truth that I feel very good about. In this crazy, uncertain, fast moving world of today... I offer you this musical ‘time out‘ to hopefully help you relax, reflect and drift to a special introspective place. To get the full effect, I ask that you allow 50 minutes or so to experience the ride from start to finish. I trust you will find this a worthy investment. Be well, stay safe, stay human.
